This was my favorite project that we have done so far. I really enjoyed coming up with creative ideas. I also liked that this project involved cutting with a X-ACTO knife, instead of drawing the final product. The most challenging parts of this project was coming up with ideas of what to do, and cutting out the banjo strings. The easiest part was cutting out all of the big pieces with the X-ACTO knife. I feel like if we ever use a X-ACTO knife again, I will do a lot better because I have gotten used to using it. I think my final product looked really good, and I'm proud of myself.
I chose this particular design because I was inspired by the country music genre. I incorporated a banjo, cowboy hat, and barn in my design, because these were things that popped into my mind when I thought of country music. I didn't think that it would look at good if I made a lot of small cuts, making everything seem too close together. I wanted to make it look simpler.
I learned how to use an X-ACTO knife to make art during this project. I had one big challenge during this project. Cutting the strings for the banjo was super difficult. I couldn't keep the lines straight and cut pieces that thin. I pushed through this challenge, and in the end, the strings look a little sloppy, but I think it looks alright.
